• My supplement game is strong, yall! I have research and tried so many different supplements and brands and I finally have found my daily keepers! Now, my supplements change with the seasons, more so flu season, but for now I want to share with you my TOP 5 DAILY supplements (in no particular order).

    1. Multivitamin

    We all should be on a multivitamin for obvious reasons! My whole house is on Smarty Pants’ Daily Vitamin. Not only are they super tasty but the customer service this company gives is outstanding! They really stand behind their product and CARE about their customers. They also use the true form of Folate (Methylfolate) and not folic acid.     2. Probiotics

    The powerhouse supplement for your gut. Many people have a GI tract that has an overgrowth of bad bacteria. This happens from antibiotics (just ONE antibiotic a year can wreak havoc on your gut), processed and sugary foods, unfiltered water, and environmental toxins and chemicals. Probiotics come in and add good bacteria back into your  gut so your gut flora can become well balanced. I preach gut health so often because it truly is so important; with the majority of our immune system being in gut, its vital we take good care of it!     3.Cod Liver Oil/Vitamin D3

    I know, the name sounds AWFUL but stick with me here! I listed these as a combo because you get vitamin D from Cod Liver Oil. MANY people, including myself (which I recently found out) are deficient in vitamin D. Unfortunately, this is not something doctors check up on during your yearly exam. You need to request it or be seen by a functional medicine doctor in order to have your levels tested. Anyways… Cod liver oil is a nutrient-dense source of essential vitamins including vitamin D and vitamin A as well as anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids. Considering most people don’t eat enough anti-inflammatory foods that provide both vitamin D and omega-3s — important nutrients that play a crucial role in cardiovascular, hormonal, immune, reproductive and neurological health — many adults and children can benefit from regularly supplementing with cod liver oil.     4. Magnesium

    Magnesium deficiency is all too common these days. Magnesium is needed to keep muscle and nerve functions normal and the heart beating rhythmically. It also helps support a healthy immune system and keeps bones strong. It also supports energy metabolism, protein synthesis and treats cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and diabetes. Magnesium is also a helpful tool to keep your bowels moving! There are many more benefits to magnesium; I highly suggest you start supplementing with it.
